The Future of Deep Brain Stimulation

DIEP: DBS Innovation Experienced by Patients

Exploring Patient Acceptance of Closed-Loop DBS.

Our project focuses on exploring patient perspectives and acceptance of emerging deep brain stimulation (DBS) technologies, particularly closed-loop systems. We aim to gain deeper insights into how patients view these advanced treatments, their concerns, and the factors that influence their willingness to embrace this new technology. By understanding patient experiences, we hope to improve the design, implementation, and overall acceptance of DBS in clinical settings.

Our Vision

Learn about our vision to explore patient perspectives on closed-loop DBS and raise awareness about its impact and innovations.

Our Team

Our research is part of the Honours Programme at Maastricht University's Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences. Under the supervision of our professors, our team of six members brings a diverse range of expertise, with students from Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, and European Public Health.
